From the Manufacturer: Building a Legacy since 1984 The original sport sandal was created on the banks of the Grand Canyon in 1984. It was designed out of necessity to prevent sandals from floating away, as a clever river guide attached two Velcro watchbands to a pair of old flip-flops.

Over the years, Teva has maintained the same innovative spirit and continues to celebrate the freedom of exploration.

Less Plastic, More Freedom Starting in 2020, all of our iconic straps are now made from traceable, recyclable plastic. This has prevented over 9 million plastic bottles from ending up in landfills and instead used to secure sandals to your feet. In addition to using recycled materials for our straps, we are also exploring sustainable options for other key materials, reducing water usage, minimizing waste in packaging, and this is only the beginning.

Our goal is to leave a smaller footprint for future generations to enjoy the great outdoors. We are taking steps today to ensure that there is freedom to explore tomorrow.
